MESS operates two charity shops, Island Castaways in Craignure and Bunessan, to encourage re-use of items.

We now have a small showroom for furniture in the Bunessan branch of Island Castaways. If you would like to donate items of furniture, please do so by prior arrangement with the shop or contact MESS, c/o MICT office, Tobermory, telephone 01688 302851.

After the cost of running the shops have been met, half of the operational profits are distributed to good causes. The other half is retained by MESS to support our other work.

Nine groups recently benefited from a share of £2000, which was raised through the MESS projects ?Island Castaways? shops in Bunessan and Craignure during the last year. After the cost of running the shops has been met, half of the proceeds are used to support other areas of the MESS projects work with the rest donated to local good causes.
